The main advantages are strong bearing capacity and good physical and mechanical properties, so they can meet the high-speed transportation needs under the premise of large transportation volume; the second category is materials such as nylon, cotton and rubber, which are slightly inferior to steel wire core in transportation volume and transportation speed.

How to choose a suitable conveyor belt?

The selection of conveyor belts for belt conveyors is based on factors such as the length of the conveyor, the conveying volume, the tension of the conveyor belt, the characteristics of the conveyed materials, the receiving conditions, and the working environment.

The selection of conveyor belts should comply with the following regulations:

For short-distance belt conveyors, polyester fabric core conveyor belts should be used. For belt conveyors with large conveying volume, long transportation distance, large lifting height, and high tension, steel wire core conveyor belts should be used.

When the conveyed materials contain large block materials and the direct drop at the receiving point is large, impact-resistant and tear-resistant conveyors should be used.

The maximum number of layers of a layered fabric core conveyor belt should not exceed 6 layers: when the conveyed material has special requirements for the thickness of the conveyor belt, it can be appropriately increased.

Underground belt conveyors must use flame-retardant conveyor belts.

 

Conveyor belt joints

 

The form of conveyor belt joints should be selected according to the type of conveyor belt and the characteristics of the belt conveyor:

Wire rope core conveyor belts should use vulcanized joints;

Multi-layer fabric core conveyor belts should use vulcanized joints;

Fabric whole core conveyor belts should use adhesive joints, and mechanical joints can also be used.

Conveyor belt vulcanized joints: Layered fabric core conveyor belts should use stepped joints; Steel rope core conveyor belts can use one or more vulcanized joints according to the tensile strength grade.

Conveyor belt safety factor

The safety factor of the conveyor belt should be selected according to different conditions: that is, for general belt conveyors, the safety factor of steel rope core conveyor belts can be 7-9; when controllable soft start and braking measures are taken for the conveyor, 5-7 can be taken.
